Research on extreme right-wing movements

Dr Graham Macklin is Co-Investigator on a forthcoming ESRC Research Seminar Series on “Right Wing Extremism in Contemporary Europe” (Grant Reference: ES/L000857/1). The Seminar was awarded a grant of £30,000, and the Principal Investigator is Professor Hilary Pilkington based at the University of Manchester. The other Co-Investigators of the Seminar Series are Associate Professor Cynthia Miller-Idriss (American University, Washington DC) and Professor Fabian Virchow (Dusseldorf).

Graham, whose research focuses on the far-right, has recently published two articles on the subject. The first, entitled ‘“Onward Blackshirts!” Music and the British Union of Fascists,’ appears in Patterns of Prejudice, vol. 47, nos. 4-5, September-December 2013, pp. 430-457. The second article is entitled ‘Transnational activism on the far right: The case of the BNP and the NPD,’ and features in West European Politics, vol. 36, no. 1, 2013, pp. 176-198.
