Michael Mansfield QC talks about his career, the impact of the Hillsborough inquests and the initiative Silence of Suicide (SOS)

Michael Mansfield QC is famous for his role in high profile court cases, inquests and enquiries, helping to overturn miscarriages of justice. His career has included cases such as the Birmingham Six, the Guildford Four, the Marchioness disaster and the Hillsborough inquest.

In the video Michael talks about about how and why he became a barrister, the impact of the Hillsborough inquests and the iniative Silence of Suicide (SOS).  

SOS was set up by Michael and his wife Yvette Greenway, after his daughter committed suicide last year. The aim is to raise awareness of the impact of suicide, on those who have suicidal feelings and the families left bereaved by the loss of a loved one.

Michael Mansfield QC received the award of Honorary Doctorate of the University for services to law and social justice at the 2016 July award ceremonies.
