Christopher Reid, celebrated poet, essayist, cartoonist and writer, worked with Ted Hughes as poetry editor for publishers Faber and Faber in the last eight years of Hughes’s life that Reid describes as one of the Poet Laureate’s most dynamic periods in which he produced an extraordinary output of “massive and important works”.  Here, Christopher Reid explains what he admired most about Hughes’s work, what it was like to work with him and what Hughes was like as a person and a friend.
