Joe Sharpe AFTER creating a magical animation that acts as the introduction to a video game based in a fantastical Russian circus, University of Huddersfield student Joe Sharpe (below) has been honoured by one of the world’s leading graphic design bodies.

Joe has now completed his BA in Virtual Reality Design with Animation.  His final-year project, revolved around the creation of a game named “Fantaziya Tsirk”.  He submitted his work to the annual New Blood competition for up-and-coming designers staged in London by the organisation D&AD – founded in the early 1960s  by design gurus of the period.

Judges were impressed by Joe’s animated trailer for the Fantaziya Tsirk game [pictured below].  It features images skilfully drawn by hand before they were scanned into the computer.  The entry was one of a small number adjudged to be ‘Best of New Blood’.

Joe was surprised and overjoyed when his tutors had let him know he had won the award.  He then rushed down to London a day earlier than he had planned in order to collect the honour.
