Jim Pickard, a Senior Lecturer and Consultant Podiatrist in the Division of Podiatry and Clinical Sciences, has been honoured by the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists with a Meritorious Award for his services to the professional body over many years at a ceremony at the House of Lords.

Candidates for these awards are nominated and seconded by senior members of the profession who fully appreciate consistently high levels of contribution to the profession.

This is a prestigious award in recognition of Jim’s outstanding work at a National level, particularly as a Council member but more recently for his work on developing policies with the Medicines Committee, where he has been influential in shaping the direction of the Podiatry profession.

The citation also recognises his considerable contribution, as a champion of the progressive development of Podiatric Surgery.

The University congratulates Jim on his award.
