Current students at the University of Huddersfield are the stars of the show in the latest University promotional video. Following on from the huge success of Aliens in the Hud, the University has taken a different approach to the latest promotional films which provide a real insight into the decisions and choices students face when deciding which university to attend.

The latest film, titled ‘The Conversation’ is broken into three parts which will look at the different stages of the decision making process. Current students Lucy Sycamore, Kristian James and recent graduate Joe Steel play the main characters in the films which follow their lives through their time at University.

Using current students allowed the University to showcase talented actors who have also lived through the journey being played out in the films. The University held auditions which were attended by many drama students as well as students from across the University. Lucy, Kristian and Joe were cast along with Iain Barr who previously played the main role in the Aliens film and Raisa Butt and Scott Rowley who were cast into key supporting roles.

The first part of the trilogy, titled ‘Choices’ looks at the three students in their college years, when Huddersfield is still just a name on their university shortlist. One of the students is preoccupied playing with his band whilst another is under pressure to work for his Dad rather than going to university. Meanwhile, Jess is struggling with her time keeping and doesn’t seem ready to go to university just yet.

One thing they all have in common is that eventually they make the decision to join Huddersfield and parts two and three of the trilogy will follow their time at Huddersfield and beyond.

Part two and three of the trilogy will be sent out to applicants and those accepting an offer from the University later in the year and made available through Youtube in 2014 so watch this space.
