Making the transition between a great idea and real business success can often be a challenge, but our Activ8 Your Business programme can help you make it happen.
Aimed at graduates of any discipline or current students on the MEnt, EntD or third year BA Enterprise Development degree the scheme provides:
- Six months’ intensive support from the University’s Business Advisors and Enterprise Team
- Free 12 months’ access to the Business Mine hot desk and office facilities
- A grant of £2,400 (£400 per month over a six month period)
- Special group events and mentoring
- Opportunities to network with Enterprise & Innovation Centre businesses
Recent graduates of the Activ8 Your Business scheme, James and Hinesh, of THAT Creative were accepted on to the scheme which secured them a place to work in the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre at the University and start-up funds.
Their business idea involves helping small businesses and inventors turn their product ideas into reality; taking initial ideas or existing products and then adding value to them, making the designs more desirable, cost effective and iconic. They said of The Enterprise Team and the Activ8 Your Business scheme:
“The Enterprise Team mentors were really helpful and were always available to call on for advice, even on the simple things which seem obvious now. We’ve also taken advantage of their programme of workshops which are a great opportunity to hear from business experts and share ideas, experience and challenges with other young entrepreneurs.
