Transport conference delivers on schedule
Mon, 01 Oct 2012 17:34:00 BST
The weightiest issues in transport economics will be discussed at the eighth annual ‘Transport Economics Conference’ at the University of Huddersfield this autumn.
The conference is aimed at A2 economics and business studies students and attracts over 200 college and sixth form students from across the North of England. The conference provides an up to date perspective on major transport projects and looks at the contribution economics can make towards evaluating the costs and benefits of such projects.
Head of the Department of Logistics and Hospitality Management, Professor Colin Bamford will open and close the conference and is a well known author and pundit on transport issues. Sessions will attempt to tackle the big issues concerned with air transport capacity, HS2 (UK high speed rail network) and indirect taxation as a means to offset environmental impact.
