Four members of teaching staff in the Business School have received awards at the University’s ‘Thank You 2012’ awards (formerly the ‘Extra Mile’ awards). The annual awards recognise the contribution to teaching and student support by staff across the University and are nominated by students themselves.
The awards were to Glynis Jones (Marketing) in the category of ‘Student Support’, James Wilson (Law) for ‘Assessment and Feedback’, Stephen Gibbs (Business Management) for ‘Inspirational Teaching’ and Naveed Yasin (Lecturer in Entrepreneurship) for ‘Assessment and Feedback’.
Law tutor James Wilson commented: “I am very grateful to the students who nominated me in the category of assessment and feedback. It is encouraging that students recognise and appreciate efforts to make assessment more relevant and engaging. I hope to have contributed in a minor way towards the University's vision for assessment and feedback which is clear, accessible, responsive, professional and innovative.”
