Prestigious appointment for Accountancy Head

The Business School’s Head of Department for Accountancy and Finance, has been elected President of the West Yorkshire Society of Chartered Accountants (WYSCA).

Wilma originally joined the University following a long private sector career as a chartered accountant with a big international firm based in Leeds. She also has 10 years experience as an examiner for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and has held committee roles for local and district societies. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

The prestigious appointment further strengthens the professional associations within the Department of Accountancy and Finance which includes links with professional bodies such as the ICAEW and the Association of International Accountants (AIA) and a pioneering ‘Partners in Accountancy’ scheme which links students with a host of national and international accountancy firms.
