FEGReG research student, Mahmoud Elmogla, has been awarded his PhD for his thesis entitled ‘Corporate social reporting in a transition economy: the case of Libya’.  The research for the PhD involved two elements: an analysis of the content of the annual reports of Libyan companies over five years; and a questionnaire survey of four groups (financial managers, investors, government auditors, and accounting academics) to gauge their views of the current state and future development of social disclosure by Libyan companies.

Dr Elmogla is returning to Libya to resume his university lecturing responsibilities, but he intends to publish his research as FEGReG working papers and journal articles with his main supervisor, Professor Chris Cowton.
