Youth and community work students get acquainted...

Last week our first year youth and community work students visited the great outdoors (well, a local wood and playground in Huddersfield) as part of their induction.
Walking just a few minutes from campus to local woods, they played some trust games, parachute games and other activities that might be useful in a youth work setting.
The idea was to get them to try some activities they could do with young people and get to know each other in ways they can’t in a classroom setting.
Tutor Jean Hatton said, ‘This was a great introduction to the course. We wanted to introduce them to a few activities that will be useful in their future careers, whilst getting to know each other.’
