We are in the top 20 for research repositories in the UK

The 13th edition of the Ranking Web of Repositories has just been released, placing Huddersfield at number 12 in the UK, and number 1 in Yorkshire for ‘institutional repositories’.
The list takes into account several factors, including the number of entries in the repository, how visible the entries are on the web, how many are included in Google Scholar and how many allow the reader full open access to the full article/content.
A great way to disseminate your research even further, making your work open access through our Repository encourages wider readership, helping your work to have an impact on society. The rankings show how well this is working, especially considering only 50% of our research (published from 2008 to the present) is currently included as full text on open access.
As a research community, it is important that we focus on making as much of our research as possible available through the Repository, so we can continue to rise up the rankings and be leaders in the field of open access dissemination.
You can read more details about the criteria for the rankings and explore the ranking table itself here.
There will be a training session run in February 2014 that will focus on how to use the Repository, and look at the benefits of open access. You can register your interest for this session here.
If you already have the citation information only of your research in the Repository and would like to know how you can add the full text of your research on open access, please contact the Repository Team for further information at e.mailbox@hud.ac.uk
