At the recently held 2012 SCUTREA Conference (Standing Conference on University Teaching and Research in the Eduction of Adults) Dr Robin Simmons and Dr Ron Thompson won the Ian Martin Prize for Social Justice for their paper, which was presented to the conference. SCUTREA is an international conference which attracts delegates and papers from across the world, including academics from the UK, Canada, USA and a number of European countries.
Their paper was entitled 'Well being and social justice? Engaging young adults on the margins of education and employment' and is linked to their research into those not in education, employment or training (NEETS).
The conference was held at the University of Leicester in July.
