Protest movements in Europe

In the past year, a number of movements across Europe responded to the financial crisis. At the centre of these initiatives are social networks that allowed the initial mobilisation and the subsequent organization of these protest movements. Apart from the organisational issues however, the new media technologies are central in the articulation and materialisation of the social and political demands of these movements.
