Professor and reader appointments announced!

Some of our researchers and lecturers with expertise in education have been awarded key promotions.

Dr Paul Thomas has been made a Professor. He is heavily involved in research in the fields of multiculturalism, racism, community cohesion and the prevention of extremism.

Dr Kevin Orr has been awarded a Readership for his research including a recently completed collaborative project funded by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service entitled Providing improvements to vocational education and training through an examination of vocational pedagogy.

Dr Jane Tobell has also become a University Teaching Fellow. She is a psychologist whose research and education includes the psychology of education. She has conducted studies in the transition from primary to secondary school, from access courses to HE and to postgraduate study.
