Pedro Alvarez - Vienna Artist in Residence 2014

The Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, the Arts and Culture, in co-operation with KulturKontakt Austria, have, for the first time since the programme's inception in 1992, selected a composer for this prestigious residency post.
Pedro is a Chilean composer who is currently a PhD candidate in the music department, working under the supervision of Professor Liza Lim and Dr Aaron Cassidy. 2013 has been a very successful year for him, including premieres and performances in the UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Austria, and Sweden, and featuring in international festivals such as the Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik, Connect Festival in Malmö, ME_MMIX in Mallorca. He'll also be appearing in this year's Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival on Monday 18 November, with a concert in Bates Mmill at 9.30pm.
