Laura Jackson We want to keep our students safe and ensure that you have the best experience you can during your time here at the University. Laura Jackson is our Safer Student Officer and her role is to keep you safe by offering crime prevention advice and safety tips.

Laura has a wealth of experience and has worked for the West Yorkshire Police Force for 11 years in a wide range of areas including front line police work.  For the last three years she has worked in the Kirklees area, including Huddersfield.

Her role here at the University provides Laura with the opportunity to work with our students and staff, in a positive and helpful way to help you to keep safe.

“I’m here to help students.  Sometimes when people see a police officer they assume that something is wrong, but I’m here to prevent problems and provide a friendly face if anyone has any questions, concerns or needs advice. I am here to ensure that the University continues to be kept a safe place by offering safety and crime prevention advice,” commented Laura.

Laura also wants to encourage us all to look out for each other. “I want to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable time here in Huddersfield and that they create many happy memories they can look back on in years to come,” commented Laura.
