West Yorkshire Lieutenancy encourages applications for Queen’s Awards

GO-AHEAD firms in the Kirklees area are being urged to apply for prestigious Queen’s Awards.

Speaking at an event which enabled leading businesspeople from the region to meet Dr Ingrid Roscoe, the Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bob Cryan (pictured below right), described the categories of Queen’s Awards that are available and how they are a major boost to companies that win them.

The Queen's Award for Enterprise “I am passionate about Huddersfield and Kirklees and I want to see the district recognised for the good work it does,” said Professor Cryan, who added that he was certain many companies in the area would meet the criteria for Queen’s Awards which are awarded in three categories – for international trade, innovation and sustainable development.

When a company receives one of the coveted awards it is entitled to use the Queen’s Award logo in all its promotional material.  The businesspeople heard that this proved to be a powerful aid to sales and motivation.
