Two members of the podiatry teaching team at the University of Huddersfield have been elected as Founding Fellows of the prestigious Faculty of Podiatric Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

Dr Chris Davies, Head of Division of Podiatry and Clinical Sciences and Jim Pickard, Senior Lecturer and Consultant Podiatrist, were inducted at a ceremony in Glasgow on Wednesday 10 October 2012.

Offered to podiatrists who have made substantial contributions to their area of speciality, are considered senior members of the podiatry profession and whose published works and attainments are of such distinction as to merit election; Fellowship is recognised as a demonstration of commitment to the College and an acknowledgement of an individual’s contribution to the development and promotion of podiatric medicine, its standards and practice.

A particular honour, these appointments as Founding Fellows will bring new opportunities for collaboration and understanding within the wider medical professions.
