In conjunction with the British Dyslexia Association, our Disability Support Service will be facilitating a Dyslexia Awareness Week from Monday 14 to Friday 18 October. The theme for the event this year is ‘Beyond Words’.

The aim of the week is to raise awareness of dyslexia in that, although it can affect written work and reading, it can have an impact in many other ways. This might include difficulties with, for example, sequencing numbers, following directions, time keeping, short term memory, sense of direction and hand and eye co-ordination.

A stall manned by staff will be in the Central Services Building atrium from 12:00 to 2:00pm each day that week, where you can find out more on the subject.

For further details on the event please contact Jo Mitchell in Disability Services here and for more information on the support offered by Disability Services visit their webpage or call in at one of their term time drop-in sessions (Mon - Fri) between 12.00pm and 1.00pm. No appointments necessary, just come to the Wellbeing and Disability Services in Quayside, Level 2, Central Services Building.
