James Rodgers (City) Not as simple as death or glory: Addressing the complexities of reporting 21st century conflict
The conflicts which followed the end of the Cold War, and the attacks of September 11th, created new challenges for news organizations, and the journalists they employ. Drawing on his experience as a BBC correspondent in Moscow, Brussels, and Gaza between 1995 and 2010, on academic studies of journalism in wars during that period, and on his recently published book Reporting Conflict (Palgrave, 2012), James Rodgers will suggest how political and technological changes have affected the work of journalists covering conflict, and how journalism can best respond. Following the seminar, there will be an opportunity to buy discounted copies of Reporting Conflict. Seminars programme: http://bit.ly/VxuqUP Contact: M.Klontzas@hud.ac.uk Poster expired: 31Jan13 |
