The UK requires a low-carbon economy in order to be able to be able to reach its goal of 80% reduction in Greenhouse emissions by 2050.  All large organisations are now obliged to produce annual carbon footprint reports and set targets in order to reduce their emissions on an annual basis. This means that employers are increasingly looking into hiring people with knowledge of carbon footprint reduction strategies.

This course aims to clarify both the meaning and importance of climate change, as well as enable students to come up with strategies that will reduce their carbon footprint.. Participating in this course and mentioning this in your CV or interview will help add to your employability.

Parisa has an MSc in Environmental Design and Engineering and has worked for a number of Manchester-based consultancy firms providing advice on carbon footprint reduction and improving environmentally-conscious behaviour.
