Step into the world of the silver screen with the Guards Brass

The University of Huddersfield Brass Band, fresh from UniBrass success, will be joined by the Grenadier Guards for a day of Brass on 23 March. At 1.15pm step into the world of the silver screen with film themes including Rocky, Superman and Star Wars performed by Guards Brass. In the evening, at 7.30pm, The University and Guards Bands will join together to give a programme of classic and contemporary music.

Guards Brass is made up of members of the Household Division who have all previously performed their duties on the State Ceremonial stage which includes Trooping the Colour, The State Opening of Parliament and The Household Division Beating Retreat to name just a few. They have performed at a number of high profile events including providing the pre results entertainment at the recent All England Masters International Brass Band Contest, a Low Brass Workshop with Black Dyke Principal Euphonium Gary Curtin and the Royal Family's official Christmas Concert in Windsor.

In February, the University of Huddersfield Brass Band was ranked 3rd in the UniBrass Trophy, and were awarded Best March. From this success, and a series of concerts in the beautiful venues of Leeds and Dewsbury Town Halls, the Brass Band is finally coming home to perform in the familiar surroundings of St Paul’s Hall.
