Exploring Academic Skills Provision Conference

Two University of Huddersfield Academic Skills Tutors have been invited to act as keynote speakers at the Exploring the position of academic skills provision in HE conference which takes place in Cardiff Metropolitan University on 25 April 2017.
Dr Pat Hill (pictured left), Academic Skills Tutor, School of Music, Humanities and Media, and Dr Amanda Tinker (pictured right), Academic Skills Tutor, School of Art, Design and Architecture, will be discussing their published works: ‘From Deficiency to Development: the Evolution of Academic Skills Provision at one UK University’ and ‘Integrating Learning Development into the Student Experience’.
The event is inspired by the best practice approaches towards academic skills provision adopted at the University of Huddersfield. This is a real recognition of the contribution of university staff to the national learning environment as attendees from universities across the country will attend this sold out conference. The conference will also focus on graduate attributes, showcasing best practice examples on the skills and expertise linked to employability.

Academics Skills Tutors at the University work closely with students to improve their academic writing, gain confidence and manage their projects. They support undergraduate and postgraduate students from a range of courses and their role is influential in curriculum design.
