University BAME Staff Network

Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic (BAME) Staff Network represents the views of staff working at the University of Huddersfield who self-define as BAME, including but not limited to, staff with African, Asian, Arab and Caribbean heritages.

The BAME Staff Network will enable colleagues to come together and share information, support each other and raise visibility of BAME staff within the University of Huddersfield.

 This role of this network is to:

  1. provide a forum for staff networking;
  2. increase and sustain the level of engagement of BAME staff within the University;
  3. encourage peer support for BAME staff;
  4. facility research network and collaboration for BAME staff within the University;
  5. identify and raise awareness within the University relating to race equality issues;
  6. collaborate with the University to shape the policy and procedures on race equality issues;
  7. run and identify campaigns / projects to support race inequality within Higher Education;
  8. organise and attend social events to promote race equality issues within the University of Huddersfield.

Staff can join to make a difference on the issues that affect the BAME staff within the University.
