Torchbearer Interactive, the brainchild of three of our Enterprise Placement Year students, has recently produced and released its own games and become a limited company. The company is working hard to become a seal of approval for well-produced games and applications.

The trio have recently been given a Huddersfield Town "Shooting Star" award. In a joint comment, students Pete Waugh, Jonathan Langley and Edward Andrew said of their award:

“Being recognised as an up and coming company is an exciting time for us, but also humbling. We still have much to do to maintain this upwards trajectory.

“The encouragement and support that we have received from the university and other digital developers is helping to mould us into a business with real potential. It is a privilege to have established ourselves in Huddersfield, which is proving itself to be a major force for entrepreneurial spirit but also a tight knit community.

“We are thrilled to have won this award. It is reassuring to know that you are going in the right direction; it can be easy to get caught up in the process when investing your time starting a new business".
