Tue, 21 Feb 2017 13:51:00 GMT

‌Join us at the University as the Saxophones take over on 9 March. The day, from 10.0am – 7.30pm, is hosted by Sarah Markham and welcomes special guest, Claude Delangle, from the Paris Conservatoire.

The day includes a range of exhibitions, workshops and concerts. Join sponsors, Selmer, Vandoren, Yamaha, D’Addario Woodwind, Yanagisawa, and Windstruments, at a day-long exhibition of saxophones and accessories in the Creative Arts Building.

Claude Delangle will be performing a recital with his wife, pianist Odile Catelin-Delangle, as well as giving a masterclass and performing alongside the University Saxophone Ensemble. In the evening join us for a finale performance bringing everyone together, conducted by Sarah Markham and with Claude Delangle as soloist. For the first time there will be practical workshops on offer, led by Quirk Saxophone Quartet, with a chance to perform what you have learned in the finale concert. Bring your saxophone and join in!

Find a full programme here. Tickets can be booked online for the lunchtime recital and evening performance.

The whole day is part of the School of Music, Humanities and Media's Sound.Vision.Place series.
