It’s time to put Fairtrade in your break
The University of Huddersfield and the Business School’s Centre for Sustainable and Resilient Communities are organising Fairtrade Fortnight with a variety of events, competitions and fairtrade product offers on campus to help you put Fairtrade in your break.
The campaign takes place from Monday 27 February to Sunday 12 March as part of the nationwide Fairtrade Fortnight campaign.
What is Fairtrade?
Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers. Fairtrade helps farmers put food on the table and send their children to school. They can invest in better farming and earn more from their crops. Communities can pay for clean water, hospitals and medicine.
Did you know?
Millions of farmers around the world aren’t paid what they deserve. As a result, their children go hungry and many can’t afford to go to school. Families have limited or no access to clean water and can’t afford to pay for a doctor when they’re sick. Things some people take for granted – clean water, free healthcare, electricity, are just a dream.
