Joseph Priestley Refurbishment
Tue, 18 Apr 2017 04:00:00 BST
From Monday 24 April the Joseph Priestly Building, home of the School of Applied Sciences, will start to undergo a fantastic transformation.
An impressive new building façade will be applied, to visually complement other University Campus buildings and a larger, contemporary space for students and academics to study and socialise is being created. This includes building new teaching and learning facilities, with two 120 seater lecture theatres and learning rooms.
Here are some changes to be aware of as a result of the project:
1) The ground, first and second floors are now closed – they are being refurbished and we will let you know when they are open
2) The third floor is open – but will only be accessible from the Journalism & Media building and through the IPOS link corridor on the second floor.
3) The main ramped entrance to the Joseph Priestly building will be closed
4) The Harold Wilson car park is closed – this is now the site office for the construction works
The site plan below is showing the extent of site compound and main access routes for the contractor. We will issue further information about the project as it progresses.
