Bringing the Local into Focus

Mon, 24 Apr 2017 11:04:00 BST

Dr Alex Kevill from Huddersfield University along with Dr Uzair Shah from Lancaster University giving a seminar on Bringing the Local into Focus: Researching Social Entrepreneurship within Transnational Management Education.

This research seminar puts forward the case for the development of a research agenda that combines transnational management education and social entrepreneurship, with a view to developing local change agents who apply business concepts to engage with pressing local social issues.  This approach aims to respond to previous critiques of transnational education programmes that argue such programmes favour the development of global citizens at the expense of local change agents.  The seminar will also report on recent empirical research undertaken to explore management educators’ conceptions of teaching social entrepreneurship and how these conceptions reflect within their practices – if they do at all.

The seminar will take place on 24th May in BS2/40 at the Huddersfield Business School from 12:30 – 14:00. If you would like to attend please email csrc@hud.ac.uk or you can call Zaman Zaffer (1501) or Fiona Hesselden (1367).
