Speaker Bios

Professor Hiroshi Katayama leads the Operations and Production Management Laboratory in the Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering at Waseda University. He has extensively researched different aspects of production management, including lean/agile production, global logistics, production strategy, Computer Integrated Manufacture, as well as development and application of production/business improvement procedures.

Dr Koichi Murata is Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Nihon University. His research focuses on Production Management Science and Imrovement Technology Transfer Theory. He has written several papers on Visual Management.

Dr Lauri Koskela is Professor of Construction and Project Management at the University of Huddersfield. He has been involved in research on lean construction. His research has focused especially on the theories of production management as well as project management, underlying lean construction.

Dr Algan Tezel is a researcher at the School of Art, Design and Architecture at the University of Huddersfield. His research focuses on Production Management in Construction, especially Conventional and Digital Visual Management Systems. Dr Tezel has written several academic and practitioner focused articles and conducted many lectures on Visual Management.
