Mon, 17 Oct 2016 01:40:00 BST
The University has dedicated webpages about data protection compliance. The pages include information about the Data Protection Act 1998 and the policy and procedures that have been put in place to ensure that the University remains compliant with its legal obligations.
The site also contains guidance for staff, which includes:
- key points to remember about data protection.
- what to do if somebody is wanting to find out what information the University holds about them.
- what to do if someone external to the University asks you for information about a member of the University.
- use of images for events and publicity.
- what to do if you have a concern about data protection compliance or if you wish to report a breach.
Data Protection Training
If you have not yet undertaken the online data protection training please ensure that you have completed this as soon as possible as it is compulsory for all staff. You will have received reminders periodically since the training was launched in January. The training package gives a general overview of data protection law and compliance, including information security and records management and guidance about how to apply this in day to day work.
You can access the course by following this link.
You should have received an email from notification@learnUpon.com with your login details and instructions for how to log in to the training system. If you experience any difficulties in logging in to LearnUpon, please contact James Marsden in Human Resources at j.h.marsden@hud.ac.uk for assistance.
If you have any other questions about data protection, please contact the University’s Data Protection Officer, Rebecca McCall.
