Environmental Health Inspectors from the local authority paid an unannounced visit to the catering department within the University on Wednesday 12 October.
The purpose of their visit was to check how well our University catering services are meeting the law by looking at:
- how hygienically the food is handled – how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored
- the condition of the structure of the buildings – the cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation and other facilities
- how the business manages and records what it does to make sure food is safe
At the end of the inspection they award a rating from 0-5.
We are delighted to announce that all of our catering outlets received the top rating of ‘5’ which means that Huddersfood was found to have ‘very good’ hygiene standards.
The lead inspector informed our Head Chef, Lee Allsup that they had observed an excellently managed environment.
Well done to all within Catering team!
