With over 150 applications to compete against, the University of Huddersfield has reached the finalist stage in four categories at this year’s Yorkshire PA Awards.
Heather Mackintosh, Executive Manager for the Vice-Chancellor’s Office commented: “We’ve been nominated for four categories and I’m absolutely delighted that we’ve been shortlisted for every one.”
The University of Huddersfield has been shortlisted as follows:
Best Boss – Vice-Chancellor Professor Bob Cryan
Employer of the Year – University of Huddersfield
Yorkshire’s Best Team - Vice-Chancellor's Office Executive Assistants
Best Organised Event - Vice-Chancellor's Office Executive Assistants
For the ‘best organised event’ category the whole team was nominated for their organisation of last year’s opening graduation day which saw the handover of the role of University Chancellor from Sir Patrick Stewart to HRH The Duke of York. This involved the team working together, including looking after VIPs throughout the event and ensuring that the handover ceremony ran smoothly.
Professor Tim Thornton, Deputy Vice-Chancellor said: “It’s great to see recognition for the excellent team here – the awards ceremony at which Sir Patrick Stewart handed over the University’s Chancellorship to the Duke of York was superbly organised and exemplifies the cheerful professionalism they display every day.”
The judges have been impressed by the ‘Yorkshire spirit’ this year and everyone’s involvement in the awards.
The winners will be revealed at a ceremony on Thursday 30 June at The Pavilion, Leeds United Football Ground. Sports reporter and presenter Tanya Arnold will be the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
Good luck to our finalists!
