Students can be in with a chance of earning £50 in cash whilst getting their design seen by organisations across Kirklees, by entering the Herbert Protocol Poster Design competition!

The School of Human and Health Sciences is collaborating with a number of organisations across Kirklees to help promote dementia awareness. One aspect of this work is to formally host the launch of the Herbert Protocol Scheme in Kirklees in conjunction with West Yorkshire Police. The Herbert Protocol is a national scheme operational in a number of Police Forces across Yorkshire and the United Kingdom (UK) that is designed to assist relatives/carers who may be caring for a vulnerable person who may go missing.

The aim of this poster competition, which has been developed in conjunction with the Students’ Union, and is open to ALL University of Huddersfield students, is to create an original poster that will help to promote the Herbert Protocol Scheme across West Yorkshire.

Poster brief:

  • Research, design and produce an original A2 sized poster using any computer programme. e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, inDesign etc.
  • The poster should be aimed at a general public audience and needs to highlight the role of The Herbert Protocol and either Kirklees Dementia Action Alliance (KDAA), or the Mencap Safe Places initiative.

Prizes:

  • Cash prizes of £50 will be awarded to the Winner and 2 Runner-up posters.
  • Winners will be notified via email and invited to the Launch Event on Wednesday 22 June 2016.
  • The Winner and Runner-up posters will be converted into flyers / posters that will be sent out to services in the Kirklees area.

Judging panel: Entries will be judged by a team that will include representatives from external agencies.
