The issue of migration is a pivotal one in contemporary politics, and a CRISS researcher is contributing to these debates through the launch of a new Podcast called “Talking Migration”, supported by the research centre and the University’s Division of Journalism and Media.
The podcast was produced by Dr Clara Sandelind, Lecturer in Politics, and features contributions from leading experts from both academia and civil society, on the key debates about migration in contemporary society. The podcast aims at engaging a wide range of people in thought-provoking discussions and illuminating debates, from a variety of perspectives. It provides an in-depth take on issues in international migration; current but beyond the headlines. The most recent episode in the series features a debate on the right to asylum and Europe’s response to the refugee crisis between Professor David Owen and David Goodhart, followed by an interview with Professor Heaven Crawley on new research on who is crossing the Mediterranean to Europe and why.
Dr Sandelind welcomes enquiries from those interested in participating in these debates. You can listen to the podcast on the Talking migration website.
