Book launch – Bisexuality: Identities, politics, theories

Professor Surya Monro launched her ground-breaking book about bisexuality on 29th January at the LGBT Foundation in Manchester. This book, which includes material from the UK, India, Colombia, and the USA, marks a new moment in bisexual studies, one in which wider scholarship can become integrated with the understandings that bisexual people (and others who feel attraction for others on more than one gender) provide. The book shot to the top of the Palgrave Macmillan bestseller list when it was published in 2015. The book launch included talks by several other speakers: Prof Angelia Wilson (University of Manchester), Christian Klesse (Manchester Metropolitan University, Matthew Waites (Glasgow University) and Milena Popova. The launch was very well received by a group of activists, academics, and interested members of the public.
