CRiSS news - Feminist Political Theory - March 2016 - Main image Emerita Professor Valerie Bryson has just published a thoroughly revised and updated third edition of her highly successful book Feminist Political Theory. Published by Palgrave Macmillan, this is expected to become the go-to text for students, researchers - and indeed anyone interested in gender justice. The book is available on the Palgrave website.

Feminist theory is a challenging and often deeply divided body of thought that raises issues which affect us all. Professor Bryson’s book provides both a wide-ranging history of western feminist theory from medieval times to the present day and a lucid analysis of contemporary feminist politics and debates. It provides an accessible and thought-provoking exploration of complex ideas, relating these to ‘real world’ issues such as sexual violence, political representation, transgender rights, cyberfeminism and globalisation.
