Autism awareness week Autism Awareness Week starts on Monday 14 March and to mark the event Disability Services are providing a stall in Central Services Building. This will have information about autism and the support available for students with autism or Asperger’s syndrome, known as Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), at the University.  Please help yourself to any information on the stall and email us at disability@hud.ac.uk or call in person at the Wellbeing and Disability Help Desk, 9.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday in Student Central if you want to follow up on anything you have read.

Advice and Guidance

There are a growing number of students with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) attending the University and Disability Services provides confidential advice and guidance, aimed at providing the support that students with ASC may need. The impact of ASC is different for every student, but can include difficulties understanding social ‘norms’, conventions and unwritten rules.  This can lead to increased stress or anxiety, or in some cases, isolation.

Please get in touch if you require advice surrounding the impact of Autism and the adjustments that can be made to support students with Autistic Spectrum Condition.
