Hopkinsons Information Day

Heritage Quay invites you to the Hopkinsons Information Day this Saturday 12 March from 11.00am to 4.00pm. One of the largest companies in Huddersfield, Hopkinsons was a large valve firm with great business heritage and a strong worldwide reputation of its brands. When the company was taken over by Weir Valves and Controls UK, the Hops archive was moved to the University and it is now stored at Heritage Quay.

Archive staff will be displaying some of the most interesting items from the collection for the public to see and are also asking for help as they start to catalogue it this summer. So if you or someone you know has worked at Hopkinsons you can:

  • Come and tell tales about working there
  • Help identify faces in photos
  • Come and explore the collections

The event is free and you can drop-in anytime. Find out more at the Heritage Quay website

Heritage Quay is the official archive for the University of Huddersfield, acting as the guardian of the archives of other organisations, families and individuals dating back over 200 years.

Their 21st-century role is to collect and secure the future of archives, both digital and physical, to preserve them for generations to come, making them as accessible and available as possible.
