Our colleagues in Heritage Quay have been nominated for two national awards in the inaugural Archives and Records Association Awards 2016. The Heritage Quay team are nominated for Record-keeping Service of the Year, and Sarah Wickham for Record-Keeper of the Year. The nominations are now open to a public vote until Sunday 17 July.

Sarah and her team – with support from colleagues across the University - have transformed the archives service over the last 18 months and over 12,000 people have visited Heritage Quay since it opened. Heritage Quay has been the recipient of several awards already, including the Guardian’s Higher Education “Inspiring Buildings” Award 2016, commendations in the Royal Historical Society’s inaugural 2015 Public History Prize and the CILIP Alan Ball Awards 2015.  In March it was awarded Archive Service Accreditation, one of only 2% of archives in the UK to achieve this.

Please do vote now for Sarah and Heritage Quay, and encourage anyone who’s used the archive services to do the same.

To vote please visit the ARA Excellence Awards survey website.
