Incredibly, this is the second such win for a student of the University of Huddersfield in the past two years, Dan Matthews bagged the same award in 2014.

Laura fended off five other regional finalists to be crowned UK champion of the competition during a ceremony in York on 20 May where she was tasked with presenting her work to a panel of prestigious industry experts from the fashion and textile industry.

The judges described her winning design, ‘Personal Expression’, as a ‘vision’ and ‘beautiful work…all about colour’. She was also praised for her ‘stand out presentation’.

Congratulations to Laura, everyone at the University of Huddersfield wishes you every success in the November final!
