CMS Students awarded Outstanding Group Award 2016
Wed, 20 Jul 2016 10:58:00 BST
Students on the Certificate in Management Studies (CMS) course have been awarded 'Outstanding Group of the year 2016' the Kirklees Adult Learners' Awards.
The award follows Kirklees Council's Adult Learners' Week initiative which recognises the achievements of outstanding adult learners. Winners of the awards have often transformed both their own lives and those of their families. This could often be by securing a job, learning to read and write or simply achieving something that they never thought possible.
CMS students of The Business School have been recognised to have made progress both individually and collectively. On successful completion of their assessments, students will achieve a Certificate in Management Studies alongside a CMI Level 6 Diploma in Management and Leadership.
Nominator, Course Leader and Lecturer in Organisation Studies Dr Rachel Cockman commented, "I am delighted to see this group receive wider recognition. As course tutors it is evident to us that their learning has gone far beyond the curriculum and impacted both their professional and personal practice. There is a clear sense that they understand the value of learning, and want to pass their learning on to friends, colleagues and families".
An award ceremony will commence on Thursday 29th September, 6pm at the Huddersfield Town Hall where all winners will receive an award certificate.
