The University of Huddersfield Law School invites all staff and students to the 3rd Annual Social Justice Lecture with keynote speaker Angela Patrick, Director of Human Rights Policy at Justice.
Rights, liberties and values – always check the label, will take place on Thursday 18 February in the Business School in association with the Legal Advice Clinic.
The latest proposals to repeal the Human Rights Act adopt the language of rights, liberties and values. However, when we talk about how human rights are protected by law; both the label and the fine print are important.
Angela Patrick, Director of Human Rights Policy, JUSTICE, will reflect on the history of human rights protection in the UK and on the watch-words for the upcoming Government debate.
A drinks reception and canapés will take place at 5.30pm with the keynote talk by Angela Patrick at 6.30pm.
