The University of Huddersfield is delighted to announce the launch of a CIB Student Chapter, open to all postgraduate and undergraduate students with an interest in research and innovation of built-environment related subject-areas.
The CIB, the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction, is a worldwide network of over 5000 experts from 500 member organisations who are collectively involved in all aspects of research and innovation for the building and construction industries.
Establishing a CIB Student Chapter is a prestigious achievement for the School of Art, Design and Architecture Research team and will provide a number of untold benefits for University students in research areas over the coming years.
The University of Huddersfield CIB Student Chapter will look to encourage students who will be among the next generation of leading researchers in building and innovation and aims to promote an exchange network, whereby members can discuss their experience, knowledge and research skills both together and with other local and international research communities.
It offers the opportunity to demonstrate the significant advantages of CIB membership to students in the future professional, research and innovation careers.
The Student Chapter will also be able to organise and conduct informative, educational and relevant workshops, seminars and symposia that will further promote research interests of Huddersfield students.
The University of Huddersfield CIB Student Chapter was formally launched in November 2016 and upcoming activates are already being planned to support its research projects and promote collaboration and exchange of knowledge with fellow CIB Student Chapters and the expert members within those groups.
The chapter’s current administrative system includes four representatives from the student body at–large, with a member of University staff, Dr Kaushal Keraminiyage, acting as advisor.
Pournima Sridarran is Project Manager, the Engagement and Communications Manager will be Danilo Gomes, whilst Finance and Event Manager is the responsibility of Elham Del Zendeh.
Any University students who have an interest in joining the Huddersfield Student Chapter are warmly invited to contact Pournima Sridarran for further details.
