Business School update

Following various recent developments, the Business School is taking the opportunity to align the three subject groups within the current Department of Strategy, Marketing and Economics with other subject groups in the School and to re-name departments accordingly. 

There will now be four departments:

1. Accountancy, Finance and Economics, formed from the merger of the Economics subject group with the current Department of Accountancy and Finance. Head of Department: Wilma Teviotdale.

2. Management, formed from the merger of the broad “Strategy” subject group with the current Department of People, Management and Organisations. Head of Department: Janet Handley.

3. Logistics, Operations, Hospitality and Marketing, formed from the merger of the Marketing subject group with the current Department of Logistics, Operations and Hospitality Management. Head of Department: Professor Samir Dani.

4. The Law School, which sees no change. Acting Head of Department: Dr Sean Curley.

The new structure come into effect on 1 August 2016.  As previously announced, Professor Jill Johnes will succeed Professor Chris Cowton as Acting Dean on 1 October.
