The way Official Statistics are produced is changing. Increasingly, administrative and commercial data is being used both for research and in the production of statistics. The dramatic rise in availability of digital data is both a challenge and an opportunity for the Official Statistics community. New statistical tools and techniques will need to be developed to exploit these sources. This talk will look at the challenges and draw on some specific examples to illustrate the approaches being taken.
