Nigerian Independence Day Celebrations

Thu, 01 Oct 2015 11:25:00 BST

The University’s Nigerian Student Society is hosting a day of celebration and culture for their 55th national independence day. The event is free and will take place on Thursday 1 October at 5.15pm in WG/54 (West Building Lecture Theatre).

Students and staff from all around the University are invited to attend and learn a little more about Nigerian history. The hosts will entertain the audience with some traditional dancing, guest speakers from Nigeria and the UK and a rendition of the Nigerian national anthem.

The event has always proved a great success with both staff and students and you can experience some real African culture. There will be an opportunity to sample some traditional Nigerian food and drinks as well as watch some exciting performances and presentations.
