The Leeds Salon is a discussion group which organises public discussion around contemporary political, cultural and scientific issues, with the aim of challenging any orthodoxies along the way. Writers, academics and experts in their field are invited to present their ideas and to have them debated and held up to scrutiny by the audience.

The next salon is Multiculturalism and its discontents and will take place on Monday 5 October at 6.45pm (for 7.00pm start) to 8.30pm at the Carriageworks Theatre in the Millennium Room.

Speakers include Paul Thomas, Professor of Youth and Policy and Director of Research for the School of Education and Professional Development here at the University of Huddersfield.
